“Exquisite” Italian fare sets apart this Syosset “winner” serving “classic” dishes, “intriguing specials” and “exotic” game for more adventurous types in an “inviting” Tuscan setting (“you’re no longer in a little strip mall” once you step inside); as the staff is “committed to excellence and personal attention”, indulging in such a “superior” experience is worth the “splurge.”
The atmosphere of this cozy, classy restaurant goes beyond any attempt to emulate an Italian restaurant, as the bunting-styled drapery, lightly yellow-tinged walls and oil paintings make this place seem as if stolen from a weathered postcard circa the early 1900s. But beyond the décor, the menu is in fact dedicated to the foods found in places like Napoli, Rome and Sicily—with a number of seafood-based antipasi set for starting purposes. Pastas like spaghetti, cavatelli, ravioli and tortelloni are also possibilities—while the entrées are a list of meats and fish prepared with flair—such as a dry-aged, grilled rib eye steak under green peppercorn, stuffed organic breast of chicken and red snapper served oreganata (in bread crumbs).
